Mayors Migration Council
Urban Migration. Local Solutions. Evidence and Impact.
We partnered with the Mayors Migration Council (MMC) to research, write, edit and design the Global Cities Fund for Migrants and Refugees Progress Report, a flagship publication documenting the Fund’s early impact and highlighting how city-led action delivers inclusive solutions for migrant and displaced communities.
The Global Cities Fund for Migrants and Refugees (GCF) was created by MMC to respond to a critical gap in how international resources reach migrants and refugees - most of whom live in cities, while traditional funding mechanisms bypass local governments. Since its inception in 2021, the GCF has grown from a USD 1 million pilot supporting five cities to an USD 8 million fund with 28 city grantees implementing programs on health, economic inclusion, climate migration and early childhood development.
Research & Reporting
Conducted in-depth desk research to analyse the GCF’s implementation, impact and evolution over its first three years
Integrated quantitative findings and qualitative insights to surface trends, outcomes and systemic implications
Structured the report to clearly connect local results with global adaptation and migration policy debates
Interviewed city practitioners, MMC leaders and partner stakeholders to capture firsthand perspectives on implementation and resilience
Editorial & Narrative Development
Developed the editorial framework to balance evidence, storytelling and policy relevance
Wrote and edited report sections to ensure clarity, coherence and strategic positioning for global audiences
Synthesised complex institutional data into accessible narrative flows that foreground city leadership and urban impact
Prepared the publication to support MMC’s advocacy objectives, including accelerating fund growth and unlocking international investment
Design & Visual Storytelling
Designed bespoke infographics to visualise key data points such as fund growth, city participation and resource mobilisation
Created layouts that balance analytical content with human stories and illustrative elements
Ensured visual clarity and narrative trajectory throughout, making the report both informative and engaging
