University of Manchester

Research Translation. Digital Platforms. Human-Centred Storytelling.

We partnered with the University of Manchester to translate complex academic research into accessible, visually compelling digital and multimedia platforms. Our work spanned website strategy, design and development, as well as animated and documentary-style video production.

RIAH Website

Researching the Impacts of Attacks on Healthcare

For the Researching the Impacts of Attacks on Healthcare (RIAH) consortium, supported by the Universities of Manchester and Geneva, we designed and developed a bespoke website from the ground up.

RIAH brings together extensive research on the impacts of attacks on healthcare in war contexts. The challenge was to present a large volume of sensitive, data-rich content in a way that is clear, engaging and easy to navigate, while preserving academic integrity and ethical nuance.

Our role included:

  • Structuring the information architecture to guide users through complex findings

  • Translating technical research into accessible digital storytelling

  • Developing a strong visual narrative aligned with the gravity and sensitivity of the subject matter

  • Designing modular page templates to accommodate evolving research outputs

The site was built on a flexible WordPress infrastructure using fully editable content blocks and a custom panel. This modular approach enables the consortium to independently update, expand and restructure content over time, ensuring long-term sustainability and adaptability.

DHM Website

We also designed and developed dhm.manchester.ac.uk as a bespoke digital platform tailored to the needs of its research community. As with RIAH, the site was built on a modular WordPress framework, giving the University team full control over future content development and layout adjustments.

Manchester COVID and LGBTQ+ Video Series

In addition to digital platforms, we produced a short animated and documentary-style video series based on University research examining how members of the LGBTQ+ community were affected during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our approach focused on translating academic findings into intimate, human-centred storytelling. Through carefully crafted scripting, sensitive visual direction and cinematic editing, the films present lived experiences through authentic slices of daily life. The result is a series that bridges research and emotion, making complex social impacts relatable and widely accessible beyond academic audiences.
